Doctors Adrienne Chan, Sarah Matenson, and Jennifer Anderson are able and experienced at providing shared antenatal care for women proposing to have their babies at The Royal Women’s, Mercy, Northern, Sunshine/Western, Monash and Boxhill Hospitals.
Shared Care means that during the course of your pregnancy you visit the hospital on only two to four occasions and our Doctors do the remainder of the monitoring.
Comprehensive communication between our Doctors and the hospital ensures continuity of care.
It is often more convenient for women to attend our Clinic as it may reduce travelling time, waiting time at hospital and reduce time away from work and family.
The initial appointment to discuss your pregnancy requires a 30 minute consultation.
Routine 15 minute antenatal appointments take place at around 12, 22, 30, 33, 38 and 40 weeks. The visits to your hospital of choice occur in between.
The antenatal appointments may need to be longer than 15 minutes should you feel you require more time.
After the birth, a 6 week check up occurs. A 30 minute appointment is required for yourself and a 15 minute appointment for your baby, the latter of which can be bulk billed if the baby is registered with Medicare. For these appointments, please bring your blue baby book and any other documents from the hospital.
Please contact reception on 9650 4284 if you have any other questions about antenatal and shared care.
