Cervical Screening (Pap Smears) during COVID-19

At Midtown Medical Clinic, our Doctors are available to discuss your cervical screening (pap smear) needs and arrange an appointment to perform the screening test if it is required.

We are currently screening all patients who attend for face to face appointments for COVID-19 risk, whilst employing social distancing and strict hygiene practices.

It is important to continue to have your cervical screening tests in a timely manner. Our Doctors can discuss whether delaying your test during current COVID-19 social distancing restrictions is appropriate for you or not.

Please make a Telehealth appointment with one of our Doctors who perform cervical screening, which can be part billed to Medicare, just like if you came in for a physical appointment.

In some cases, it is safe to delay your test for up to 3 months, but at other times we would recommend you come in and see us to have the test performed as soon as possible, such as if you are significantly overdue or your prior tests have been abnormal.

If you are not sure if you are due or of your prior results, we can ring the Australian central registry following your appointment to gain more information for you.

If you would like to discuss other health care needs, such as pregnancy planning or contraception during your Telehealth appointment, please request a 30-minute appointment and ask for a Doctor who has a specific interest in these areas.

For appointments please call 9650 4284 or book online.

We are here to help and look forward to your call.
