1. Can I make an appointment via email?
We prefer that you contact our Reception staff on (03) 9650 4284 to schedule, change or cancel appointments.
2. Can I contact my Practitioner by phone or email?
Patient Care will not be discussed via phone or email. This is not only a medico-legal requirement, it also ensures that Patients receive the appropriate time and care from Pracititioners.
3. Do I need to bring anything to my consultation?
If you have previously consulted another Health Care Provider about your condition, have had investigations, such as an X-Rays, MRI, CT or have had blood tests, please bring copies of these results with you.
4. Is parking available?
Parking is available throughout the city, we recommend City Square Car Park located on the corner of Flinders Lane and Swanston Street. For additional information on parking, please contact our Reception Staff on (03) 9650 4284.
5. Do I need to pay for my consultation on the day?
All Patients are required to settle their account on the day of their consultation. Cash, EFTPOS, Visa, Mastercard and Bankcard are accepted.
6. Does the Clinic bulk bill?
Midtown Medical Clinic is a privately billing Practice.
7. Do you treat WorkCover and/or TAC Patients
Yes, we do treat WorkCover and TAC Patients. WorkCover and TAC Patients will be charged private fees and will need to claim the cost of consultations back from their Employer, WorkCover insurer or the TAC. In some situations, this may result in a gap between our fees and the amount refunded by the Employer/WorkCover insurer/ the TAC.
8. What is the difference between a General Practitioner and a Sports Doctor?
Sports Doctors specialise in musculoskeletal conditions, such as back problems, knee injuries and fractures. You do not need to be a Sports Person or Athlete to see a Sports Doctor.
9. Do I need to confirm my appointment?
The day before your consultation, we will sent out a 'reminder sms' to confirm your appointment, if you do not provide us with a mobile number, you may wish to call our Reception staff to confirm your appointment.
10. Will I be charged a fee if I cancel or fail to attend my appointment?
If you fail to attend an appointment or make a late cancellation (less than 2 hours prior to the appointment), you may be charged a fee.
11. Should I request a certain length of time for my appointment?
Yes, if you are seeing a Doctor for a musculoskeletal/sports injury, for a Pap Smear, travel vaccinations or for more than one issue, please request a double (30 min) appointment.
